John Whitney CBE became Soundaround’s Life President following his retirement from the position of Chairman which he held since 1980. Nigel has known John for forty years, before Nigel lost his sight, when John was Nigel’s boss at Autocue, the script prompting company. John has held many senior positions in the world of broadcast, and the arts including MD of Capital Radio, Director General of the IBA, Chairman of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Really Useful Group, and more recently Chairman of RADA. In 2007 he received the CBE for his work in the entertainment industry.
